In our earlier blog, we saw that Artificial Intelligence (AI) offers a plethora of exciting career opportunities across various domains. As AI continues to evolve, so too will the opportunities it presents. Future careers in AI may include roles that we haven’t yet imagined, as the technology continues to integrate into every aspect of human life. For those interested in a career in AI, the key is a lifelong commitment to learning and adapting to new technologies, methodologies, and ethical considerations. In this blog let us take a look at some more career opportunities in AI.
Robotics engineers design, build, test, and maintain robots. They also develop algorithms, build control systems, and maintain the software that controls the operation of robots. While doing so they ensure that robots and robotic machines operate safely, dependably, and with precision. They identify and implement modifications to the functioning of the robotic systems. They also carry out research to find the most cost-efficient and safest process to manufacture their robotic systems. To work in a robotics software role, you’ll need a background in computer science. However, to work in a role that involves designing robotic components, you’ll need to do mechanical engineering or electrical engineering.

Natural Language Processing (NLP) Engineer

NLP is a field that combines computer science, artificial intelligence (AI), and linguistics to process and analyse natural language, that is the language we speak, read and write. NLP is used in many everyday tools, including translation software, chatbots, spam filters, search engines, grammar correction software, voice assistants and social media monitoring tools. NLP engineers create software that can understand and respond to natural language by working with speech patterns and AI speech recognition. To become an NLP engineer, you can pursue a bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, or a related field and gain practical experience working on NLP projects. Additionally, you can also enroll in NLP courses and certification programs.

Big Data Engineer

Extremely large and diverse collections of structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data that grow exponentially over time are known as big data. Because big data is so huge and complex in volume (size), velocity (speed at which it increases), and variety (disparateness), traditional data management systems cannot store, process, and analyze them. A big data engineer designs, builds, tests, and maintains data processing systems that work with big data. They are responsible for creating and managing a company’s big data infrastructure and tools. A bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, maths, statistics or a related discipline is the foundation for a successful big data engineer career. Subsequent extensive hands-on experience in data processing, data modelling, data warehousing, business intelligence etc. is a must. Certifications and a Master’s degree are helpful.

AI Research Scientist

AI research scientists research and develop new AI algorithms and models and apply them to real-world problems while staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI. Usually, they are experts in multiple software engineering and artificial intelligence disciplines, including programming languages, data structures, neural networks, deep learning, machine learning, computational statistics, applied mathematics, graphical models, data representation and natural language processing. A master’s or doctoral degree in computer science or a related technical field with extensive practical experience in one or more of the above areas is the basic requirement for this role. They should also have research credentials, such as lab experience, knowledge of theoretical and empirical research techniques and the ability to publish results. Moreover, AI scientists need strong communication skills because they’ll often explain their work to other scientists, managers, or clients.

AI Analyst

AI analysts use machine learning techniques to discover insights, find new patterns and discover relationships in the data. They can interpret historical data and predict future trends to help business teams improve decision-making. They use machine learning algorithms to monitor, assess, collect, process, and track statistical information from sets of data. An AI analyst designs or analyses algorithms; evaluates software applications; researches new AI technology; undertakes software development; tests prototypes; assists business productivity by leveraging AI; and prepares reports by analyzing data properly. To become an AI Analyst, one must at least have an undergraduate degree in computer science, data science, or AI and a strong foundation in machine learning deep learning, and predictive analytics.

Deep Learning Engineer

Deep learning is a type of machine learning that teaches computers to process data in a way similar to the complex decision-making power of the human brain. Deep learning models can recognize complex patterns in pictures, text, sounds, and other data to produce accurate insights and predictions. A deep learning engineer is a professional who specializes in developing and implementing deep learning algorithms to build models that can perform tasks such as image recognition, natural language processing, speech recognition and computer vision. Deep learning engineers need strong mathematical skills, programming abilities, and skills in working with deep learning algorithms and thorough knowledge of machine learning, data engineering methods and knowledge of deep learning frameworks. To become a deep learning engineer, you need to have a bachelor’s in computer science, data science, or AI and build a strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, probability, and programming by beginning as a data scientist or an ML engineer.

Business Intelligence (BI) Developer

A BI developer is an engineer who analyses complex data preferably using AI nowadays and looks for current business and market trends, to provide actionable information to end-users to make informed business decisions thereby increasing the profitability and efficiency of the organization. BI developers can leverage software tools and transform data garnered from everyday operations using AI to get useful insights which will heavily impact business decisions. For this purpose, they design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions, including data analytics platforms and reporting tools. To become a BI developer, one must at least have an undergraduate degree in computer science, math, statistics, or a related field and working experience in programming languages, databases and BI tools.
From our blogs, you would have realized that AI has not just revolutionized the way we interact with technology but has also opened up a vast landscape of career opportunities. From enhancing customer experience through chatbots to making strides in healthcare with predictive analytics, AI’s potential is vast and varied. This burgeoning field is not just for technologists and programmers; it’s also for ethicists, project managers, and creative minded.  So, Whether you’re a programmer, a philosopher, or an artiste, there’s a place for you in AI. The future is bright, and it’s powered by intelligent machines.
